Exercise was good medicine CLICK FOR MORE: "When Tom Guinan noticed the tremors in his right hand, he figured it was because he was tired and overworked. A lawyer who specializes in litigation involving building contractors, he had been spending long hours in court.
But the uncontrollable shaking continued. It was embarrassing, especially when arguing a case. Worse, the malady was spreading to his right leg. In the summer of 2003, he went to see a neurologist who told Guinan (pronounced GUY-nan) that he had Parkinson's disease. Guinan denied the diagnosis. How could this be happening to him? His balance was so unstable he developed bruises on his thighs from bumping into his desk. Meanwhile, he and his wife, Judi, had become self-educated Parkinson's experts, hunting and collecting information.
